四川省博物院文本英译实证研究

An Empirical Study on C-E Translation of Sichuan Provincial Museum Texts

四川省博物馆是展示巴蜀文化的重要窗口,作为传播巴蜀文化的重要渠道,博物馆文本的英译质量至关重要。通过收集四川省博物馆的英译文本,发现其中存在不少英译问题。本文通过对这些语料进行分类研究,指出博物馆文本英译应遵循三条原则:信息性、文化性、可接受性,并以此为指导,采用实证分析和对比研究的方法,通过对典型案例的分析,验证了这三条原则的可行性。同时,本文还从博物馆、译者和审校三方面分析了翻译质量出现问题的原因,并提出了提高博物馆文本英译质量的建议。

Sichuan Provincial Museum serves as a significant window into Bashu culture.Therefore,the quality of Chinese-English translation of the museum text is absolutely vital for the international publicity of Bashu culture.However,it is found that the translation is far from satisfactory in the course of the collection of texts.As the principles are should be followed of giving enough information,demonstrating hidden culture and considering approved acceptability,an empirical study of the collected texts by means of case study and contrastive analysisis conducted to proof of the practicability of the above three principles.Moreover,some suggestions are put foward as how to improve the future translation from the three aspects:the museum proper,translator and reviser.
