Joint attention is a coordinated attention ability in an individual’s early social cognitive ability, which has an important influence on his language ability, emotion regulation and mental theory. The joint attention of people with severe intellectual and multiple disabilities follows the development sequence of normal children, but shows differences in the development level of common attention and the preference characteristics of joint attention stimuli.Based on the interactive development theory,it is initially clarified that the joint attention of people with severe intellectual and multiple disabilities is affected by the characteristics, environment and interaction of the two parties. This status quo suggests that in the future,it is necessary to strengthen the research on the comprehensive joint attention stimulus preference for people with severe intellectual and multiple disabilities, and to deepen the discussion on the influencing factors in order to comprehensively consider and adjust them in intervention, hence effectively improve the life quality of this group of people.
