金哀宗出走汴京及东入归德之后,曾受东迁论、西迁论、北进论思想之影响,最终清除东迁论代表者蒲察官奴势力后,在完颜仲德等西迁论者支持下由归德迁往蔡州,试图西取宋之兴元,以图巴蜀之地,振兴金朝,但这种战略抉择在当时蒙宋联合围堵的情况下无法实施,这是促成金朝迅速灭亡的直接原因之一。
