Exotic gems or gem products from central Asia,west Asia and South Asia were frequently mentioned in documents and Buddhist classics,or unearthed from temple relics of the Tang Dynasty.Their booming was closely related to the national policy and Buddhist rituals of the Tang Dynasty.By analyzing the reasons for the booming of exotic gems in Buddhism of the Tang Dynasty,the material aspects of Buddhist belief and the rise and fall of Buddhism are revealed.
