鸿德学院英语专业学生的中国文化认同现状及成因案例分析

A Case Study on the Status and Causes of English Majors’ Chinese Cultural Identity,Using Undergraduates from Honder College as Subjects

本文以调查数据为依据,针对鸿德学院英语专业本科生对中国文化的掌握情况和相关英语表述能力进行了案例分析,发现学生本土文化知识的结构不够均衡,而且用英文表述本土文化的能力较弱,说明我国传统的英语教育需要从三个方面加以改进:一是在英语教学中加大中国文化内容的比重;二是增加本土文化英文表述方式的输入和输出;三是帮助学生构建以母语文化为支柱、以目标语文化为补充的双重文化身份。

Based on statistical investigations,this essay presents a case study on English majors’ command of Chinese culture and their English proficiency in conveying the national culture by using undergraduates from Honder College as subjects. It reveals an unbalanced knowledge structure and weak articulateness among the students while describing native culture,which indicates that the traditional English education in China should be improved in three aspects,namely,expanding the proportion of Chinese culture in classes,increasing the input and output of English expressions describing Chinese culture and facilitating students to build a double cultural identity resting on Chinese culture as the mainstay and the target culture as complementary support.
