Objective To investigate the electroencephalogram(EEG)characteristics of patients with first-episode schizophrenics and the changes of EEG before and after treatment. Methods Sixty-eight patients with first-episode schizophrenics admitted to Jining Psychiatric Hospital from February 2015 to August 2019 were selected, and they received EEG examination before treatment and after 8 weeks of treatment with aripiprazole tablet. The results of EEG prior to treatment were recorded;after treatment, the results of two times of EEG were compared for patients who had abnormal presents in the first examination. Results Among 68 patients,33.82%(23/68)of the cases had abnormal EEG results,66.18%(45/68)of the cases had normal EEG results, and the difference in percentages of two kinds of EEG result was significant(P<0.05).There were significant differences inδwave,θwave,α1 wave,α2 wave,β1 wave andβ2 wave of EEG among patients with mild abnormal, moderate abnormal and normal schizophrenia(P<0.05).The abnormal rate of EEG of the 68 schizophrenics patients after treatment(23.53%,16/68)was lower than that before treatment(33.82%,23/68),but the difference was not significant(P>0.05).Conclusions EEG can be used as one of the main auxiliary examinations to diagnose the condition of schizophrenia, judge the curative effect and evaluate the prognosis. And it plays an important role in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of schizophrenia.
