Objective:To evaluate the dilacerated root condition of children with impacted maxillary central incisor and to explore its risk factors by logistic regression analysis. Methods:The clinical data of 135 children with impacted maxillary central incisors were retrospectively analyzed. The incidence of dilacerated root was analyzed. To analysis the age of the children, the distance from the maxillary incisal edge to the hard palate plane(MP),crown angle, crown width, root length of impacted tooth.Logistic regression analysis was performed by selecting possible risk factors.Results:Eighty-seven patients(64.45%)having dilacerated roots were found in 135 patients with impact maxillary central incisor. The clinical data of the dilacerated root group and the non-dilacerated root group showed that the difference of the MP and the crown angle were statistically significant(P<0.01).Logistic regression analysis showed that the risk factor of the dilacerated root of the impacted maxillary incisor was the crown angle(P<0.01),while the MP was a non-risk factor(P>0.05).Conclusion:Dilacerated root is a common root deformity in children with impacted maxillary incisors. The common risk factor is crown angle. Therefore, children with large angles need early orthodontic traction under surgical assisted eruption.
