Design Science,Knowledge Supply and Education--An Interview with Xie Youbai

院士跨界高端访谈栏目旨在探索面向未来的科技人文问题。本期访谈中国工程院院士、上海交通大学教授谢友柏,聚焦设计科学、知识供给和教育。谢友柏认为,设计科学强调设计的对象都是PPSS,即物理(physical)、心理(psychological)、社会(social)、系统(system),而不是CPS(cyber physical system,信息物理系统)。设计是知识流动、集成、竞争、进化的过程,参与设计竞争的不能只有社会精英,还要有社会大众,同时必须遵守有利于人类共同美好生活与社会和谐发展的法则。谢友柏还提出,高等教育的本质始终是人的培养,要从"德"与"才"两方面综合考量,高校人才选拔与培养要始终与国家发展战略同心同向。

Mr. Xie believes that design science emphasizes that the objects of design are PPSS, that is, physical, psychological, social, and system, rather than CPS(cyber physical system). Design is a process of knowledge flow, integration, competition, and evolution. It is not only the social elites but also the general public who should participate in the design competition. At the same time, it must abide by the laws that are conducive to the harmonious development of human life and society. He also proposes that the essence of higher education is always the cultivation of human beings. It is necessary to comprehensively take into consideration "morality" and "talent". The selection and cultivation of talents in colleges and universities must always be aligned with the national development strategy.
