摘要
《跟错误之神回家》是新加坡作家林宝音的批判现实主义小说代表作。作品中的无名神像不仅是新加坡后殖民语境的产物和多元文化的体现,更是作品叙事的重要契机,其不确定性身份赋予了作品开放的阐释空间。借助于无名神像这一民俗事物,作品既批判了新加坡社会父权制文化传统对人性的压制,又揭露了新加坡现代社会大众文化错位的价值观。同时,依附于无名神像之上的"回家"母题还表达了新加坡华人对母国文化的守望以及他们的身份困惑和焦虑。
Following the Wrong God Home is a fiction of critical realism by Catherine Lim, one of the most famous writers in Singapore. A statuette of god with no name in this novel is not only a product of the post-colonial context and representation of the multiculture of Singapore, but also an essential narrative element of the story, because its uncertain identity creates more possibilities for interpretation. With the image of the statuette, the novel criticizes the repression from the patriarchal culture of Singapore on humanity and reveals the misplaced value of the mass in the modern society of Singapore. At the same time, the motif of seeking home attached to the statuette shows the nostalgia of the local Chinese people and their anxiety of cultural identity.
