Differences between the Chinese and Western Ideas in International Politics and Their Influence

中西方观念差异的形成,既有不同文明发展演变的原因,也有观念和思维差异本身的原因。有一些差异是由于历史发展阶段不同造成的,有一些差异则是主观臆断、国家社会心理和舆论促成的。同与异不是绝对的,是可以转化的;差异是始终存在的,我们面对的是一个充满差异的社会;学会在差异间共处并进行有效合作,是当今时代的重要任务。中国强调观念差异的包容互鉴、价值兼容、交融共享,在外交上也是希望解决好观念差异阻碍合作的问题,实现由求同存异、求同化异到求同合异的递进。

The differences between Chinese and Western ideas are due to the evolution of their different civilizations,as well as the differences in ideas and thinking.Some differences are caused by the different stages of historical development,while others are caused by subjective assumptions,national ethos and public opinions.The differences are not absolute,but can be transformed;the differences are always there,as we are facing a society full of them;and learning to coexist and cooperate effectively amid the differences is an important task of the current times.Regarding the conceptual differences,China emphasizes inclusiveness,mutual learning,values coordination,and fusion and sharing.In terms of diplomacy,China also hopes to solve the problem that conceptual differences hinder cooperation,and make the step-by-step progress of reserving differences,resolving differences and integrating differences.
