霫与白霫及霫与奚有关问题考辨

Study on the Relationship of the Ethnic Groups of Xi(霫),Baixi(白霫)and Xi(奚)

对于霫与白霫的关系,学术界有同族说、异族说、同源异流说,可是从地域、风俗、都城等方面进行探讨,发现霫与白霫高度吻合,可以得出二者为同一民族的结论。至于霫与奚的关系,则普遍被认为是两个民族,通过分析相关事例,发现霫与奚并非两个民族,而是一个民族的两种写法,属于古代的通假字现象。因此,霫、白霫、奚其实就是一个民族。

There are views of one people,different peoples or one origin but different branches about the relationship between the ethnic groups of Xi(霫)and Baixi(白霫)in the academic circles.But from the analysis on the aspects such as the region,custom and capital,it comes to the conclusion that Xi(霫)and Baixi(白霫)are one people.As for the relationship between Xi(霫)and Xi(奚),it is widely regarded to be two different ethnic groups.However,through the analysis of relevant cases,it is found that Xi(霫)and Xi(奚)are two different written forms for one people,which is a phenomenon of the interchangeability of ancient Chinese characters.Therefore,it is concluded that Xi(霫),Baixi(白霫)and Xi(奚)are one people.
