There are many comparable features between China’s historical development and that of Iran. Both countries have gone through several prosperous historical stages of development and more than once become powerful countries in respective region. So both countries have cherished the heart of great power.Since modern times, the two countries have been subjected to the aggression of Western powers and struggled hard to cast off this fate.Iran reached the peak of its history during the Persian Empire, and the subsequent dynasties did not reach the world influence of the Persian Empire.China’s international influence had gradually improved since the Qin Dynasty and reached the peak in the Tang Dynasty.Until the Qing Dynasty,China had been one of the major powers in the world.Judging from the contribution of the present regime to the national rejuvenation, the People’s Republic of China has basically rejuvenated China to a historic high status again, while the Islamic Republic of Iran has not achieved satisfactory results.Similar or different developments between China and Iran have influenced the mutual recognition of the two countries, and then affected the deep development of bilateral relations.Appropriate self-awareness and mutual recognition between the two countries are key factors in deepening bilateral relations in the future.China’s own level of development determines the height of Sino-Iranian relations.
