Based on the concept and features of Metropolitan Area,this article takes research on the development mode of intercity rail express.Through accurate case study and theoretical analysis,this article elaborates all the following content:system structure and function of intercity railway system,spatial distribution of intercity rail express,operation organization mode,vehicle system selection,mode features between railway system and urban system,and positive influence of this development mode to Metropolitan Area transportation hub and urban system.
