Regional Technology Facilitation Effect of China Free Trade Zone Construction——Taking the Eastern Region as an Example

在理论分析自贸区的技术促进效应作用机制的基础上,利用2003—2017年的东部地区省级面板数据,以累乘Malmquist指数为技术进步变量,运用双重差分法来考察自贸区的技术促进效应,研究表明:自贸区虚拟变量的系数总是在0.1%水平上显著,并在12.9%~16.7%水平上变动,说明自贸区对区域技术进步具有积极推动作用。最后,借助自贸区建设的相关经验,为推动我国经济高质量发展提出建议。

Based on the theoretical analysis of the mechanism of the technology facilitation effect of the Free Trade Zone,using the provincial panel data of the eastern region from 2003 to 2017,and using the multiplied Malmquist index as the technological progress variable,the double difference method is used to examine the technology facilitation effect of the Free Trade Zone.The study shows that the coefficient of the dummy variable of the Free Trade Zone is always significant at the level of 0.1%,and changes at the level of 12.9%~16.7%.It indicates that the Free Trade Zone has a positive role in promoting regional technological progress.Finally,with the relevant experience in the construction of the Free Trade Zone,suggestions are put forward to promote the high-quality development of China's economy.
