边缘人物知多少——论伊丽莎白·乔利《井》的多重空间叙事

Know More about Marginalized Figures:On Multiple Space Narration in Elizabeth Jolley’s The Well

通过构建多维交互的立体空间,澳大利亚小说家伊丽莎白·乔利在《井》中全方位地展现了边缘人物的心理图景。梳理小说的空间因素,结合对作者空间叙事所进行的分析,文章揭示出乔利借助物理空间的转换表现边缘人物被压抑的生存状态以及心理异化,利用庞杂文本空间的构建凸显边缘性人物的心理焦虑与自我分裂;同时,还指出乔利通过引导读者构筑立体化的心理空间,深入揭示边缘人物的矛盾人格,从而更有利于人们对边缘群体的了解与关注。

By constructing multi-dimensional interactive space,the Australian novelist Elizabeth Jolley displayed the overall mental picture of the marginalized figures in The Well.In combination with the spatial elements and the further analysis of the spatial narrative,this paper reveals that Jolley,through the transformation of physical space,shows the oppressed condition and mental alienation of the marginalized.And the construction of complex textual space reflects the psychological anxiety and self split caused by marginality.Jolley also further leads readers to construct stereoscopic mental network gaining insight of the character’s contradictory personality,contributing to readers’better understanding and concern to the marginalized.
