Neurally adjusted ventilatory assist(NAVA)is a new type of mechanical ventilation mode which works by monitoring electrical activity of the diaphragm(EAdi)signals.Previous studies have shown that NAVA can improve man-machine coordination, reduce the load of diaphragm, improve the success rate of weaning, reduce inflammation, and so on.With the deepening of the application of NAVA in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)in recent years, this paper reviews the application of NAVA in patients with COPD.This paper expounds the present situation of clinical treatment of COPD patients and some advantages of NAVA and the therapeutic value of NAVA in COPD patients, which provides a new idea for clinical treatment of COPD patients.
