Application of English Grammatical Cohesive Device in the Translation of Studies on the Epics of Southern China

Studies on the Epics of Southern China is a book that exhibits the unique cultures of many ethnic groups in southern China.This book probes into the application of such grammatical cohesive device as reference,substitution,ellipsis and conjunction in the translation of the book as well as the differences between Chinese and English grammatical cohesive device.It is stated that the translation of the book is not a simple word-for-word translation;instead,it has adopted some effective grammatical cohesive device which has improved the translation of the book and enhanced the spread of China’s ethnic cultures.
