Periostracum cicadae and Bombyx batryticatus can affect lung and liver meridian,and have the effect of dispelling wind pathogens,relieving spasm,clearing heat and relieving sore throat,eliminating urticaria to relieve itching,and so on.Modern pharmacological studies have shown that they have bacteriostatic,anti-inflammatory,antipyretic,analgesic,antiasthmatic,and antiallergic effects.According to the effects,they are often used in combination clinically to treat exopathogenic fever,pertussis-like syndrome,urticaria,and Tourette syndrome in children,and get pretty good clinical therapeutic effect.
