Study on the Reading Activities of Famous Prostitutes in the Late Ming Dynasty

名妓是中国古代女性的重要组成部分,探讨名妓阅读活动,是对我国古代女性阅读史研究的有利补充。文章通过爬梳史料,从影响名妓阅读的因素到阅读环境,挖掘其阅读内容与阅读目的,探究其产生的社会影响,发现名妓阅读所带来的社会影响绝非是轰动一时的,她们对当时文人士子创作所带来的启发与灵感以及自身文学才艺的流露与传承都是空前绝后的,她们甚至带来整个社会对女性价值、女性文化与文明的重新审视与反思。

Famous prostitutes are an important part of ancient Chinese women.To explore the reading activities of famous prostitutes is a beneficial supplement to the study of ancient Chinese women’s reading history.By combing the historical materials,this paper explores the factors influencing the reading of famous prostitutes,the reading environment,reading contents and reading purpose and social influence they have.It is found that the social influence brought by the reading of famous prostitutes is by no means a sensation.Their enlightenment and inspiration to the creation of literati at that time,as well as the display and inheritance of their literary talents are unique and unprecedented.It even brings the whole society to re-examine and reflect on women’s value,women’s culture and civilization.
