联合国文件翻译的常见问题及应对策略——以裁军谈判会议文件为例

Problems and Solutions in UN Document Translation:A Case Study of Verbatim Records of Conference on Disarmament

本文基于作者的实践经验,以联合国裁军谈判会议逐字记录文件为例,论述联合国文件翻译中的常见问题及应对策略。文章归纳了联合国裁军谈判记录文件翻译的主要挑战,提出了翻译此类文件时可采取的应对策略,最后指出,在联合国文件翻译中应在传统与时代发展、忠实原文和服务读者之间实现平衡。

Based on this author’s work experience,this article touches upon the challenges and coping strategies in translating UN documents,taking the example of verbatim records of the Conference on Disarmament(CD).It first outlines major challenges in translating CD verbatim records,then provides a raft of coping strategies,and finally recommends that balances should be achieved between institutional tradition and new developments,as well as between fidelity to the original text and the expectations of the readers in translating UN documents.
