Chinese ancient philosophy is the core and dominator of Chinese culture.The ecosophy of Chinese ancient philosophy is the essence of Chinese philosophy.There are profound and sagacious expositions on the universe and human life in works of Chinese philosophy.In Book of Changes,there are statements of ecophilosophy“Production and reproduction is what is called change”and“The great attribute of heaven and earth is the giving and maintaining life”.In Confucian works,there are statements about the theory that man is an integral part of nature emphasizing the harmony between man and nature.According to Daoist philosophy,“Man follows the earth.Earth follows the universe.The universe follows the Tao.The Tao follows nature”.In Buddhism,“All has Buddha nature”.All these contain significant ecosophy with“life”as the basis and the standard,with“harmony”as the quintessence and with“harmony between man and nature”as the target.This is the reservoir of wisdom,particularly,the ecological wisdom.Historically,it contributed to the formation of the core values of Chinese agricultural civilization and guided the creation and development of Chinese civilization making the Chinese nation in the lead in the world.
