党的十八大以来,习近平总书记立足当下、放眼未来,始终把人民群众放在心中最高的地位,始终坚持人民的主体地位,鲜明提出了一系列关于人民群众的重要论述,出台了一系列关于民生问题的方针政策,这些对于人民群众生活质量的提高以及党和国家的发展都起了重要的推动作用。习近平群众观承继、发展和创新了马克思主义的人民群众观,立足于中国的实际情况,进而构建起了独具特色的新时代人民群众观。这一思想对于在新时代下密切党群关系、加强党的作风建设从而提高执政党的公信力、更好地坚持和加强党的全面领导、进而实现全面建成小康社会都具有十分重要而深远的意义。
