Adaptation and Innovation:Towards Translator Training in the Context of Localization Industry

本地化是翻译的扩展与延伸,翻译是本地化的核心内容,本地化产业已经开始大量吸纳翻译专业人才,但对其能力提出更高要求,高校应充分意识到本地化产业对翻译人才培养的导向作用,主动适应新形势、新要求,为翻译专业学生增设一些与本地化息息相关的技术和管理类课程,构建以翻译能力、跨文化交际能力、技术能力以及管理能力为一体的能力培养体系。为解决本地化翻译教学中的技术和师资难题,高校可尝试翻译工作坊、企业冠名班的新型教学模式,落实多元协同、校企共育的人才培养理念。

Localization is a kind of expansion of translation and translation is the core content of localization.The localization industry has begun to create far more positions for professional translators than traditional translation industry,but meanwhile it sets higher requirements for translator's competence.The universities and colleges should be fully conscious about the orientation of localization industry to translator training and thus initiatively adapt themselves to the new situation and requirements.In this paper they are suggested to offer some courses of technology and management connected with localization for translation major students,in order to construct a competence cultivation system focusing on competences of translation,intercultural communication,technology and management.To solve the technological and teaching difficulties,they can attempt to adopt new teaching modes of translation workshop and class sponsored and named after enterprise,based on an idea of cooperation between universities and enterprises.
