Geological Characteristics and Utilization Prospects of the Baishagou Marble Deposit in Haicheng County

海城市白沙沟大理岩矿赋存于古元古代辽河岩群大石桥岩组中,该套地层是经过区域变质作用形成的,大理岩矿体呈层状分布,矿石的自然类型根据其颜色基调可分为三个品种,品种一为白-灰白色白云石大理岩;品种二为浅橄榄绿色条纹、条带状蛇纹石化大理岩;品种三为黑绿、墨绿色条纹、条带状蛇纹石化大理岩。品种一可作为建筑石材的原料,品种二与品种三可开发为饰面石材、工艺品、风景石等,综合利用前景较好。

The Baishagou Marble deposit in Haicheng County,is occurred in the paleoproterozoic Liaohe Group Dashiqiao formation(Pt1 lhd), The strata is formed through reginal metamorphism. Marble orebodies are stratified. According to its colour is divided into three types. The first is white dolomite marble. The second is light olive green stripe and banded petpentinized marble. The third is black green,green black stripe,serpentinized marble.The first can be used as the raw material of construction stone, The second and the third are developed for facing stone, handicraft,landscape stone, the comprehensive utilization prospect is better.
