Review of Baker’s Taishan:An Account of Sacred Eastern Peak of China

1925年商务印书馆出版了美国传教士德怀特·康斗·贝克尔的《泰山:中国圣山东岳》一书,全书以泰山登山盘路为主线,详细介绍了山路沿途景观、庙宇及典故、历史等,既为泰山研究提供了珍贵的资料,也为泰山文化海外传播提供了可资参考的文本。

In 1925,the Commercial Press published the book Taishan:An Account of Sacred Eastern Peak of China by American missionary Dwight Condo Baker,which was started by Leitzel and accomplished by Baker.The book takes the mountain road as the main line,and introduces the landscape along the mountain road in detail,allusions of temples and history.Baker’s book not only provides valuable materials for the study of Mount Tai,but also provides a reference text for the overseas spread of Mount Tai culture.
