Corrosion perforation at the bottom of crude oil tank is a common problem, but corrosion thinning and perforation at the top of the tank has not attracted widespread attention. Severe corrosion thinning and perforation occurred on the top of four crude oil buffer tanks in a petrochemical company due to the factors such as long service life and deterioration of crude oil quality. Causes of the corrosion were analyzed in detail, and specific protective measures were brought up.
