Trans-boundary is the forefront issue of the contemporary literature research.Obviously,William Carlos Williams is a pioneer of trans-boundary thinking. He writes poems as a doctor and makes good use of painting techniques in his poems. However, while scholars at home and abroad did a vast amount of research on his trans-boundary of painting and literature, they paid little attention to his short stories.Actually,Williams holds medical job for more than 40 years, and almost all his short stories are about illness, patients, doctors, nurses and patients'families. His medical stories are the ideal texts for the trans-boundary research of medicine and literature. This paper, taking several short stories from Williams'medical stories, tries to explore humanity, illness narrative and ethical reflection in his medical stories in the view of trans-boundary between medicine and literature.
