摘要
本文关涉中国近代建筑教育。不同于以往研究对于专业教育本身的探讨,作者以1910-1920年代出自北京清华学校的留美建筑家为例,揭示了校园文化对于人才发展的长远影响。积极进取的人生观、自由多元的个性、德智体美全面发展的教程、跨专业交流合作的可能、爱国主义和社会关怀的陶冶,以及知行合一的作风,这一近代校园文化传统对于中国今天建筑教育甚至高等教育的发展依然不失其参考价值和借鉴意义。
This paper concerns modern Chinese architectural education.Instead of focusing on professional disciplines and teachers,as in much of the existing scholarship,this paper expands its scope to campus culture.It studies the multifaceted school life of Tsinghua College during the 1910s and the 1920s,when pioneer architects were studying in this preparatory school before going to the US for their professional training.The author argues that the education these architects received in China has had a long-term influence in their life and career.It nourished their activism,liberalism,patriotism and social concern.It also fostered their full development in morality and intelligence,physics and aesthetics.Moreover,it encouraged them to pursue unity of knowledge and action in life and interdisciplinary collaboration in work.
