"Grossform":A Manifesto for Urban Architecture Triggered by the Issue of Quantity and Scale

以3个辩证关系"片段与整体""差异与协同""变化与稳定"为线索,批判性重构德国建筑师昂格尔斯基于数量与规模的思考提出的"大形"概念;指出"大形"意在通过形式构架的介入,为数量与规模下的"无定形"提供秩序;明确其核心思想对处理当代城市"大量性"问题具有的重要作用,以及对中国城市建设的启发意义。

Taking the three dialectical relationships of"fragments and whole","divergence and coordination","change and stability"as clues,this paper critically reconstructs the idea of"Grossform"proposed by German architect O.M.Ungers based on the thinking of quantity and scale,points out that"Grossform"intends to provide order for the"formlessness"in quantity and scale through the intervention of the formal framework,and clarifies the important role of its core ideas in dealing with the"greatest number"in contemporary cities,as well as the enlightening significance for urban construction in China.
