摘要
外语课堂上推行表达性写作,学生响应度居高。学习者借由写作主动地生成意义、表达和分享生命感受,故而更可能在享受写作的同时提升目标语表达能力。然而,当今国内外语写作研究强调学术写作,表达性写作之影响少有触及。我们的研究探索英语专业大学生对表达性写作所持的学习态度,并就学习经历对学习者写作态度所产生的影响展开课堂调查。研究发现,表达性写作课程中大学生用写作探索、发现自我,写作积极主动,目标语写作能力随之提升。数据还显示,教学者、教学方式、努力、成就感、自信对学习态度之形成有积极贡献。其中,努力程度、写作自信是外语学习者写作态度变化的决定性因素。本研究可为态度研究提供新的研究范式,同时为教学中强化学习者积极学习体验提供理论解读。
Learner response to expressive writing tasks tends to be positive in foreign language classrooms.Through expressive writing,learners are motivated to seek meaning,express their sentiments,share life’s events,and in the process,improve their writing competence.Current domestic research is primarily focused on academic writing while the role of expressive writing is largely ignored.This study investigates tertiary-level English major students’attitudes towards expressive writing and how their experiences impact their writing attitudes.Findings point to a positive attitude as well as an elevation of writing ability as a result of the students using expressive writing to explore and discover the inner self.The data also show a contributive effect of instructor role,teaching methods,and sense of achievement on writers’attitudes.In addition,writers’levels of effort and self-confidence are deterministic of the extent of positive attitudes towards writing.This study approaches the analysis of attitudinal factors from a more nuanced research perspective and provides a theoretical rationale for pedagogical practices that foster positive learner experience.
