Human Rights Practices in China and Its Global Significance amid the Ordeal of COVID-19

2020年伊始,新冠肺炎疫情突然而至。在这场关系生死的危机面前,不同国家的人权价值本位与人权保障制度面临一场前所未有的严峻考验。这让人们清楚地看到了西方人权的边界。与之不同,中国切实保障了人民的生命权、生存权、健康权与发展权,向世界展示了中国人权,体现了保障世界人权的大国担当,用实际行动验证世界人权话语多元化的"应然"性,为形成更具包容性、普遍性的世界人权话语贡献中国之力。

The beginning of 2020 witnessed the sudden onset of the COVID-19.In the face of this life-and-death crisis,the value standards and safeguarding systems for human rights in different countries are confronted with an unprecedented severe test.This reveals clearly to the people the boundary of western human rights.In contrast,China has effectively guaranteed the people’s rights to life,survival,health and development,and demonstrated its human rights to the world as well as the responsibility as a great power in safeguarding global human rights.With practical actions,China has proved the "oughtness" in the diversification of global human rights discourses,and contributed its part to the evolution of more inclusive and universal discourses of global human rights.
