Embracing Digital Technologies in Language Research:An Emerging Language Research Paradigm driven by Science and Technology Development

如今人类社会已逐步进入数字化时代。数字技术的发展和应用已经成为驱动当今社会经济和科技文化发展的新动能,数字化将进一步引发一场范围更为广泛的产品革命、生活革命。各个学科的学术研究都将逐步走上数字化之路,语言研究也不例外。当今人工智能飞速发展,而其发展需要有众多学科的支撑;语言学却在人工智能的发展中有被边缘化的倾向。但这也引发语言学人的反思,也让语言学人从中看到了语言研究和语言学发展的曙光——要按"语言学+"的模式走与其他学科交叉融合之路,要逐步让语言研究走上数字化之路。

As the world is now entering into the digital age,the development and application of digital technology has become the new momentum for the growth of economy,science,technology and culture.Digitalization will further trigger a broader industrial and life revolution.Academic research in all disciplines will be influenced by digital technologies,and linguistic research is no exception.The rapid progress of artificial intelligence needs to be supported by many disciplines;but regrettably linguistics showed a tendency to be marginalized,which not only triggered the reflection of linguists,but also inspired linguists to follow the"Linguistics+"model,integrating with other disciplines,and opening the possibilities of applying digital technologies to language research.
