The Geologist Zhao Guo-bin

赵国宾是我国著名地质学家,在矿产资源的考察开发方面做出巨大贡献。他的英年早逝,是我国地质学界的一大憾事。本文根据新发现的材料,结合时代背景考察了赵国宾的学术成长经历,尤其是他北京大学求学时期的学术活动,以及投身实业后在矿产资源考察、开发及经营方面的诸多工作。

Zhao Guo-bin was a well-known geologist in China.He made enormous significant contributions to the investigation and development of mineral resources,and his early death was a great loss for the field of geology in China.This paper combines an investigation of some newly discovered materials with an exploration of the background of his times to trace Zhao Guo-bin’s academic development,especially the time when he studied at Peking University,and the period of his life when he worked on the investigation,development and management of mineral resources in the mining industry.
