Research on Multicast and Related Technology of Backbone Network in NGB

IP组播是在IP数据网内实现点到多点报文转发的一系列规程和协议的组合,通过IP组播技术,将电视节目通过下一代广播电视骨干网传输到异地为异地电视用户提供服务成为可能。本文对IP组播技术、组播路由协议、组播VPN技术进行了研究,并对组播及其相关技术进行了对比,总结出了各种组播技术的优缺点。

IP multicast is a combination of a series of procedures and protocols that implement point-to-multipoint packet forwarding within IP data network. By using IP multicast technology, it is possible to transmit TV programs to remote locations through backbone network of NGB. This paper studies IP multicast technology, multicast routing protocol, and multicast VPN technology, compares multicast and related technologies, and summarizes advantages and disadvantages of various multicast technologies.
