Wu Lien-Teh is a pioneer in the history of Chinese epidemic prevention.He is also an important founder of modern medicine,public health and medical education in China.At the beginning of the 20 th century,he used the scientific method of epidemic prevention to defeat the epidemic diseases which broke out many times in China and save tens of millions of lives.He proposed and developed the theory of pneumonic plague,which had a wide range of academic influence in the world.Wu Lien-Teh’s practical,innovative and love the common people thought of epidemic prevention is still of great value to China’s epidemic prevention and control and the whole public health enterprise.
