卡萨诺瓦的“文学世界”与丹穆若什的“世界文学”

卡萨诺瓦的“文学世界”和丹穆若什的“世界文学”都是涌现于世纪之交的文学理论。前者源于法国,将“文学世界”看作是一个随时间变化而发展的、相对独立的空间,有其“中心”和“边缘”,为占据中心,空间内必然有竞争。后者代表美国学派,把世界文学看作是一种阅读与流通的模式,主要包括流通、翻译和生产三个环节。它们代表了欧美两种比较文学与世界文学流派的碰撞。比较这两种关于世界文学的生成及发展机制的理论,寻找两者的共同点和差异,并探究两种理论中值得商榷的地方,寻求对理论的深入理解与合理借鉴,以完善对“世界文学”的认知。

Casanova's"world republic of letters"and Damrosch's"world literature",both are literary theories appeared in the change of century.The former,from France,considers that"world republic of letters"is a relatively independent space,which develops over time and has its center and peripheries;to occupy the central position,there must be conflict in it.While the latter,developed in the United States,views"world literature"as a mode of reading and circulation,including principally three links:circulation,translation and production.They represent the collision between French School and American School.This article will compare these two theories about the generation and development of world literature,finding their similarities as well as differences,exploring the questionable points in them,to seek a deep understanding and reasonable reference of these theories.By these means,we can understand better the concept of"world literature".
