Green New Deal and Its Impact on US Climate Politics

随着2020年美国总统大选的临近,气候变化成为民主党与共和党的重要争议性议题。绿色新政提案是民主党议员提出的旨在应对气候变化的未来愿景。民主党总统候选人拜登在桑德斯退选后,为争取年轻选民的支持,提出了一项包含绿色新政的全面气候计划,明确表达了对绿色新政所要实现目标的支持,但特朗普政府对绿色新政的消极态度以及共和党对参议院的控制,使其进一步推进面临巨大阻力。然而,出于总选选举和党派竞争考量,美国两大政党内部及两党总统候选人对绿色新政在一定程度上呈现出妥协的态度主张。尽管绿色新政面临着政治、资金、技术、工会等方面的挑战,但可能会引发美国相关行业的重大调整,并影响美国选民在2020年大选中的反应。

As the 2020 US presidential election approaches,climate change has become an important and controversial issue for Democrats and Republicans.The Green New Deal proposal is a future vision that Democrats have put forward to combat climate change.Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden,after Bernie Sanders withdrew from the race,proposed a comprehensive climate plan that included Green New Deal and clearly expressed the support for the goals of this proposal,which is hoping to gain the support of young voters.But the Trump administration’s negative attitude toward it and control of the Senate by Republicans have become huge obstacle for the further progress of the Green New Deal.However,due to the presidential election and party competition,Democrats,Republicans and the presidential candidates of both parties show a compromise attitude to the Green New Deal to some extent.Although the Green New Deal faces political,financial,technical and labor union’s challenges,it is expected to trigger major adjustments in related US industries and influence how American voters react in the 2020 election.
