摘要
空间(χω′ρα)作为事物得以存在的基础和前提,在《蒂迈欧篇》的宇宙创生图景中占有重要地位。由于文本的模糊性,对此概念的理解始终存在着多重困境。莫尔将其类比为镜子或媒介,并将在其中的事物都称为影像,将空间与可感事物类比为一种镜像关系。相比于康福德,莫尔更是将空间的镜子类比深化到本体论层次,在他看来,柏拉图所说的空间并没有实体意义上的承载功能,本质上只能作为一种映射能力而存在,但莫尔的镜子类比却造成了对理解柏拉图文本的诸多疑难。因此致力于论述并批判莫尔对柏拉图空间概念的镜子类比,认为此类比不仅造成了与《蒂迈欧篇》文本的冲突,而且本身也是自相矛盾的。从空间与元素痕迹相互奠基的维度将其还原为一种关系性概念,并探讨关系性空间的性质,进而理解柏拉图空间的本质特征。
Chora (χω′ρα), as the basis and premise of something, occupies a crucial status in the creative picture of cosmos. However,due to the text’s ambiguity, there are multiple difficulties for understanding this conception. Mohr regards it as a mirror or medium,and calls the things in it an image, and then takes them as a mirror-image relationship. In contrast with Cornford, Mohr deepens the mirror analogy into the level of ontology. In his view, Plato’s chora does not possess the function of bearing, but just exists as a function of reflection essentially, but Mohr’s mirror analogyleads to the multiple difficulties for understanding Plato’s chora. So this paper discussed and criticized Mohr’s mirror analogy of Plato’s chora, holding that it not only leads to the conflict with Timaeus, but also is paradoxical. Eventually, the analogy was reduced to a relational conception from the dimension of mutual basis between chora and elements’ traces, the quality of relational chora was explored, and then the essential character of Plato’s chora was interpreted.
