Appraisal theory emphasizes on analyzing evaluation words or clauses,and looks deeply into its connotation by analyzing surface words and sentences.Based on attitude system and engagement system in Appraisal theory,taking 8 reports on China's fight against COVID-19 as sources which from the two mainstream media China and the United States,China Daily and Time,this paper analyzes the attitudes and opinions contained in its news language.China advocates strengthening foreign cooperation and exchanges and fighting the epidemic together.The Chinese government shares Chinese experience actively and makes contributions to the international economic recovery.The US government shirks its responsibility.Chinese methods and experience work in China,but it does not mean that it can achieve good results in Europe or the United States.The Chinese government provides medical supplies to other countries only for their own interests and to reshape international right of speech.
