巴斯奈特文化翻译观视角下的《边城》文化负载词英译研究

English Translation of Culture-loaded Words in The Border Town:A Perspective of Susan Bassnett's Cultural Translation Theory

翻译研究从语言学层面逐渐转向文化层面,文化因素成为翻译研究不可忽视的部分,而文化负载词也成为翻译研究和文化对外传播的重要因素。《边城》是沈从文的代表作,描述了独特的湘西风情,其中含有大量的文化负载词。文章以《边城》英译本为例,从巴斯奈特的文化翻译观视角,以异化为主、归化为辅的翻译策略对文化负载词进行英译研究,对中国经典向外传播有一定的促进作用。

Translation studies have gradually turned from linguistic level to cultural level.The factor of culture has become an essential part of translation studies.Culture-loaded words have also become an important part of translation studies and foreign cultural communication.The Border Town,masterpiece of Shen Congwen,describes the unique scenery and customs of Xiangxi,which constitutes a large number of culture-loaded words and expressions.This article studies the culture-loaded words and expressions in The Border Town from the perspective of Susan Bassnett’s cultural translation theory with the translation strategies of foreignization as the first option and domestication as the second one,which promotes the spreading of Chinese classics.
