燕京大学时期的郭绍虞和1930年代新文学的学院化

Guo Shaoyu in Yenching University and the Institutionalization of New Literature in the 1930 s

作为1930年代燕京大学国文系的主政者,郭绍虞身兼新文学家、古典文学研究者、国文教育家等多重身份。他看到了当时新文学重“文艺”轻“应用”的倾向,借力古典文学等研究背景和国文教育家的教学实践,为新文学提出了语言资源上文白互补以提升学生语言运用能力和写作水平等解决思路,为新文学的学院化之路做了最为根本的夯实基础的工作。在1930年代高等教育机构整体走向学院化的背景下,新文学作为一种“知识”的价值尚未得到普遍认可,与其大张旗鼓地为它在学院化体制中张目,不如脚踏实地解决新文学存在的问题,以一种蓄势待发的方式,去开拓新文学学院化的未来发展空间。正是在这个意义上,郭绍虞的思路和实践具有重要的参照意义和价值。

As the dean of the Department of Chinese literature of Yenching University in the 1930s,Guo Shaoyu was also a New Literature writer,a researcher of classical literature and Chinese educationist.With the help of the research background of classical literature,he had put forward some solutions to the problems existing in the New Literature at that time,and had laid an important foundation for the institutionalization of New Literature.Under the background of higher education institutions becoming more specialized in the 1930s,the value of New Literature as a kind of“knowledge”has not been universally recognized.It’s better to solve the problems of New Literature in a down-to-earth way and open up the future development space of it.It is in this sense that Guo Shaoyu’s thoughts and practice has an important reference significance and value.
