Objective To systematic evaluate the therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with low-frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation for the treatment of upper extremity motor dysfunction after stroke. Methods Sixty patients were randomly divided into the treatment group(n=30)and the control group(n=30).The treatment group was treated with low frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with conventional acupuncture, and the control group was treated with conventional acupuncture.Barthel index,FMA value,WMFT value, dorsal myoelectric value of the first interosseous muscle, biceps muscle EMG,and flexor hallucis muscle value were evaluated before treatment and 4 weeks after treatment. Results After 4 weeks of treatment, the Barthel index,FMA value,WMFT value, dorsal myoelectric value of the first interosseous muscle, biceps muscle EMG,and flexor hallucis longus muscle power were increased in both groups(P<0.01),and the WMFT value and the flexor hallucis muscle value of the treatment group were significantly improved compared with the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture combined with low-frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation is effective in treating upper extremity motor function after stroke. It is worthy of clinical promotion.
