The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China’s fight in the north of Shaanxi is a tough and breathtaking battle directed by Mao Zedong and the Military Commission of the Central Committee of the CPC to strike back and smash the critical attack of Chiang Kai-shek’s Kuomintang army in the early stage of China’s War of Liberation.As the deputy political commissar of the Northwest Field Army,Xi Zhongxun took office at a time of crisis.He participated in deploying and directing the defense of Yan’an,collaborated with Peng Dehuai to conduct the fight in the north of Shannxi,used the"mushroom"tactics,defeating the enemy troops with a force inferior in number,and together they created the war miracle of"three wars,three wins"in the north of Shannxi.These campaigns dealt a forceful blow to the arrogance of the Hu Zongnan Group of the Kuomintang army,and stabilized the war situation in the north of Shannxi.Besides,Xi Zhongxun used the gap time between wars to conduct fruitful political work,enhance discipline education in the armed force,and energetically carry out the ideological and political work in the army.He mobilized the masses to give full support to the front line,and was involved in launching the new type of ideological education movement in the Liberation Army and uplifting the army’s fighting capacity.In the tough fight in the north of Shannxi,Xi Zhongxun displayed the talent of managing complex situations and made important contributions to the victory of the Central Committee of the CPC’s fight in the north of Shaanxi.
