“一带一路”倡议下国家距离对OFDI的影响:天涯咫尺还是咫尺天涯

Influence of National Distance on OFDI under Belt and Road Initiative: So Near or So Far

从空间、经济和人文三个层面建立国家距离的统一框架,讨论其对OFDI的影响,发现受外来者劣势和外来者收益的共同作用,二者呈现复杂的非线性关系。使用"一带一路"沿线65国相关数据的实证检验结果表明,"一带一路"倡议下国家距离对OFDI表现出一定的阻碍作用,而进一步的门槛效应检验表明国家距离对OFDI的影响呈现U型,跨越特定门槛值后,国家距离产生的外来者收益将抵消部分外来者劣势,为OFDI的顺利推进提供了有利条件。研究结论对指导中国企业在"一带一路"沿线的投资区位和模式选择具有积极意义。

From the three aspects of space,economy and humanity,this study establishes a unified framework of national distance,discusses its impact on OFDI,and reveals that due to the joint effects of liability of foreignness and advantage of foreignness,the two show a complex nonlinear relationship. The empirical test results based on the relevant data from the 65 countries along Belt and Road show that national distance has a certain negative effect on OFDI under the Belt and Road initiative,and further tests on threshold effect show that the influence of national distance on OFDI is U-shaped;when the specific threshold value is exceeded,the advantage of foreignness generated by the national distance will offset some of the liability of foreignness which provides favorable conditions for the smooth progress of OFDI. The research results have positive significance for guiding China enterprises ’investment location and mode choice along the Belt and Road.
