金庸武侠小说英译传播策略研究——以《射雕英雄传》(卷一)为例

Transmission Strategies Explored in the English Versions of Jin Yong’s Martial Arts Fiction:A Case Study of Legends of the Condor Heroes(Volume 1)

金庸武侠小说在国内拥有众多读者,也是中国文学的重要组成部分,但其英译和相关研究的开展却相对较晚。翻译策略的选择往往决定中国文学英译的成功与否,因此是研究者需要重点关注的问题,但是随着翻译研究的发展,翻译策略已经不仅仅是文本层面的选择,同时还包括与译文相伴相生的各种副文本的选择。鉴于此,本文探究了《射雕英雄传》(卷一)英译本中文本策略和副文本策略的使用,同时考察二者如何运作以帮助目标文本在英语世界的广泛传播。

Jin Yong’s martial arts fiction is widely read in China and is an important part of the Chinese literature,but the English translation of it and the studies on the translation have not attracted significant attention until recently.Translation strategy adopted in the English translation of Chinese fiction determines the success of it and it is an essential issue to be taken into account.However,with the advent of Translation Studies,it is agreed that translation strategy is not only the textual transfer but also the choice of various paratexts accompanying the production of the translation.Therefore,this article explores the textual and paratextual strategies employed in the first volume of the English translation of Legends of the Condor Heroes and examines how these strategies contributes to the wide spread of the translation.
