摘要
《金瓶梅》中有大量的性描写,其中的隐喻型性话语及其翻译值得研究。通过搜集相关语料,发现其中的绝大部分隐喻型性话语属于四种概念隐喻,即"性是战争""性是植物""性是动物"和"性是气象"。芮效卫对《金瓶梅》中的隐喻型性话语采取的主要是再现策略,由于相关语境比较充分,译文读者也不难理解。译者也删除了部分性隐喻意象,主要由于语境不够充分,或者语用频率较低。芮效卫对其中隐喻型性话语的翻译较好地实现了认知与审美的统一,同时也很大程度上体现了他的忠实翻译观。
There are a great number of sexual descriptions in Jin Ping Met,among which the sex-related metaphorical expressions and their translations are worth studying.With a great collection of relevant textual materials,it is found that most of the sex-related metaphorical expressions can be classified into four conceptual metaphors,namely,SEX IS WAR,SEX IS PLANT,SEX IS ANIMAL and SEX IS WEATHER.As to those metaphorical expressions in Jin Ping Met,David Roy mainly adopts the strategy of reproduction,for target readers find no difficulty to understand the corresponding translations with quite relevant and sufficient contexts.David Roy also omits some metaphorical images,mainly due to lack of sufficient context or low frequency of usage.David Roy’ s English translation of the sex-related metaphorical expressions in Jin Ping Mei,to a great extent,achieves the unity of cognitive and aesthetic effect,and at the same time reflects his faithfulness in translation.
