从《胎记》作者霍桑的宗教观、性格、时代背景、个人生活等方面探究了霍桑的荒野观形成原因;从生态批评的视角分析揭示了霍桑在《胎记》中所蕴含的荒野观:包括尊重自然规律,维持人与自然的平衡,以及对真善美的呼唤。霍桑的荒野观在建设和谐社会的今天仍具有一定的积极意义,值得反思和借鉴。

This paper explores the reasons for the formation of Hawthorne’s views on wilderness from the aspects of his The Birthmark author’s religious views,personality,historical background and personal life.From the perspective of ecological criticism,this paper reveals hawthorne’s views on wilderness in The Birthmark,including respecting the laws of nature,maintaining the balance between man and nature,and calling for truth,goodness and beauty.Hawthorne’s wilderness view is still of positive significance in the construction of a harmonious society today,which is worthy of reflection and reference.
