Nicholas Jose,an Australian contemporary writer,imagines and recreates the classic novel Six Chapters of a Floating Life by Shen Fu,a Chinese scholar in the Qing dynasty.It endows Chinese classical literature and traditional culture with fresh connotation.Generally speaking,the variation of The Red Thread to Six Chapters of a Floating Life is mainly reflected in the following three aspects:the transformation from the landscape and pastoral civilization to the modern scientific and technological civilization,the transformation from the human reality space to the third space,and the transformation from the relationship between men and women to the racial relationship.
