The general goal of school physical education is to promote the development of students'physical health, followed by learning one or two kinds of sports skills. However,in the physical education teaching of most universities, especially in the public physical education class with a large number of students, teachers only pay attention to the learning of students'sports skills, but ignore the physical quality of students.Low intensity sports participation and simple skills learning can not make students'physical health get a good improvement. This paper analyzes the characteristics of high intensity interval training(HIIT)which is popular in the mass fitness and high-level athletes in recent years, and combines it with the actual scene of college physical education classroom teaching,so that it can be better applied to the physical training of students in physical education classroom teaching,so as to promote the overall development of students.
