The history of insulin treatment is a brilliant chapter in the history of diabetes medication.With the in-depth investigation of the pathophysiological mechanism of diabetes.This article is based on the discovery,research and development history of basal insulin and how to improve the application of insulin on clinics.Basal insulin analogue(insulin glargine,detemir,degludec is characterized with long half-life,flat and stable time-action profile,significant anti-hyperglycemic effect and less hypoglycemia.By reviewing the literatures,our insight into vicissitude of research and development of insulin would provide new perspective for application of insulin in the future.
